The Oregon sports wagering market experienced a substantial rise in September, with both earnings and total bets reaching record levels.
The state’s sports betting earnings skyrocketed in September, hitting $39.3 million, a 57.2% jump from the same period the previous year. Earnings also climbed 39.4% compared to August.
Total gaming earnings in September reached $5.5 million, a staggering 358.3% increase from the same period the previous year and more than double August’s figure.
DraftKings is the leading player in Oregon’s sports betting market, with nearly all earnings originating from its platform. Scoreboard generated only $163 in earnings.
American football emerged as the most popular sport among Oregon consumers, attracting $14.8 million in wagers and generating $3.3 million in earnings. Baseball came in second with $11.2 million in wagers and $1.1 million in earnings. Soccer followed in third place with $4.6 million in wagers and $300,293 in earnings.
In terms of wager types, DraftKings received $28.1 million in single and combination bets, and $11.2 million in combination bets. Scoreboard only processed $172 in wagers that month, with $169 in single and combination bets and just $3 in combination bets.
