The Star Entertainment Group has declared the resumption of operations at its locations in Sydney and Queensland, aligning with the New South Wales government’s COVID-19 reopening strategy.
The Star Sydney unveiled its reopening guidelines on the 9th of September.
The Star Sydney resumed operations yesterday (October 11th) for fully inoculated personnel and visitors.
The hotel had been shut down since the 25th of June.
The new regulations stipulate one individual per 4 square meters indoors and one person per 2 square meters outdoors.
Face coverings are also obligatory, and patrons must be seated while consuming food or beverages indoors.
The seating requirement will be lifted a week after New South Wales achieves its 80% double-dose vaccination target, projected to be on the 18th or 25th of October.
From the 1st of December, capacity is anticipated to rise to one individual per 2 square meters, but face coverings will remain mandatory for front-of-house personnel.
The Star also revealed that operational restrictions at The Star Queensland were relaxed from 4pm on the 8th of October.
As part of the reopening, capacity has expanded to one individual per 2 square meters, with face coverings still mandatory indoors.
The Star Group addressed accusations of illicit financial dealings on Tuesday, labeling them as “inaccurate.” The New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority is presently undertaking a routine examination of the Star Group in Sydney.
