The United States Gaming Association (USGA) has selected Michael Rumbolz, a seasoned expert in the gaming sector, to be its next president. Rumbolz, whose distinguished career encompasses casino management, oversight, and production, will assume leadership in January 2024. He follows Jim Allen, Head of Hard Rock International and Chief Executive of Seminole Gaming, who has held the position of USGA Chairman since January 2022.
Rumbolz conveyed his eagerness for the position, remarking, “I am privileged to have the chance to guide the USGA and contribute to molding the future of gaming. From addressing unlawful gambling to advocating for responsible gaming, the USGA is confronting transformative matters, and I anticipate expanding upon the advancements achieved under Jim’s direction.”
William Miller, USGA President and Chief Executive Officer, commended Rumbolz’s selection, stating, “Mike’s background as an executive, producer, and regulator is unmatched and will be crucial in propelling significant headway on industry objectives.”
Rumbolz contributes a vast reservoir of expertise. He formerly held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Everi, a prominent gaming technology supplier. His regulatory background includes a period as the Head of the Nevada Gaming Control Commission, where he played a vital part in shaping gaming regulations. He also held the position of Nevada’s Principal Deputy Attorney General.
Miller stated, “Jim’s proficiency, knowledge, and guidance have been crucial in furthering the American Gaming Association’s objectives and optimizing our sector’s influence.
“He has served as a reliable counselor to me, and I appreciate the chance to have collaborated with him over these past two years.”
During Jim Allen’s term, the gaming sector grappled with recuperation from the COVID-19 pandemic while confronting the escalating danger of illicit gambling activities – a worldwide phenomenon.
Upon his exit, Allen commented, “Our industry and Association have never demonstrated greater strength.
