The famed Caesars Entertainment group is significantly expanding its presence in the Mexican vacation market. Following closely on their recent statement regarding two new resorts in Dubai that will not feature gaming, the casino and resort powerhouse has unveiled intentions for a third property, this one situated in Los Cabos, Mexico.
The opulent Caesars Palace Luxury Resort Los Cabos, a $200 million endeavor, will be an expansive property featuring 500 guest rooms and suites. Visitors will enjoy a lavish experience complete with on-site dining establishments, entertainment options, a spa and wellness center, and naturally, tennis and golf amenities. A sizable 40,000 square foot conference center will also be at the disposal of those traveling for business or attending events.
Caesars Entertainment pointed to a 40% surge in air travel from the US and Canada to the region over the past three years as a primary driver behind their choice. They clearly perceive a burgeoning market for upscale hospitality in the area.
The commencement of construction is scheduled for the first half of 2019, with local development firm Grupo Questro spearheading the project. Upon completion, Caesars Entertainment will assume management responsibilities for the property, collecting licensing and management fees.
Mark Frissora, President and CEO of Caesars Entertainment, remarked on the company’s latest undertaking, noting that introducing the Caesars Palace brand to Los Cabos represents a crucial element of their plan to broaden their non-gaming holdings into premier resort destinations.
Venturing into the Mexican market represents a pivotal move, underscoring the international appeal of the Caesars name.”
Sharing this perspective, Eduardo Sanchez Navarro Rivera Torres, Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Questro, stated, “We are delighted to collaborate in introducing the Caesars brand to Cabo San Lucas. Caesars enjoys global recognition, and we are certain this upscale resort will evolve into a cherished destination, drawing visitors from around the world.”
Further fueling this expansion momentum, Australian media sources have indicated that Steven Tight, Director of International Development at Caesars, has engaged in discussions with representatives from the Queensland Gold Coast tourism board. These encounters suggest Caesars is actively exploring a resort project in this renowned Australian vacation spot. Should these reports hold true, Australia could soon join the ranks of Caesars’ ever-growing international presence.
